Cherryhill Firefighters Practice Patient Handling & Packaging Skills

As part of their bi-monthly practice, Cherryhill firefighters sharpened their patient handling and practice skills. As is the mission of every firefighting organization protecting life, property and the environment in order is our purpose and properly handling and packaging patients on an emergency is a normal and necessary function of a firefighter.

Cherryhill QRS Coordinator Jim Sadler led the practice session that included review and practice of c-spine mobilization, communication for team care, various techniques to board or stretcher a patients such as a log roll and straddle lift, use of CID, spider straps, and a review of various medical equipment on our rigs. Coordinator Sadler has a plethora of knowledge and skills to help our team can confidence in their ability to perform basic skills to be proficient on an active scene.

Cherryhill Fire appreciates adn thanks our members who gave up their time tonight to enhance their skills to better serve our community. Firefighters participating include Fire Chief Jody Rainey, First Assistant Chief, John Rainey, Captain Vinny Mutz, QRS Coordinator Jim Sadler, EMT Faith Johns, Firefighters Bre Dixon, Dallas Leasure, Isaac Foreback, Bill Cochran and Garett McKendrick.
