Eight firefighters from Cherryhill Township Fire Company completed a 16-hour Pump 1 training at the Indiana County Public Safety Academy. Pump 1 is and introductory course to operating a fire engine pump at a scene of an emergency. In addition to understanding various pump configurations, practical training and demonstration of ability engaging the pump, moving water tank to pump, from pressurized source and from a static source are all objectives of the course.
Cherryhill firefighters focused their training on Rescue Engine 242 and gained greater understanding of operator responsibilities, the various features and capabilities that are unique to 242. Members completing the training include Chief Jody Rainey, Captain Vinny Mutz, Captain Nathan Rainey, Engineer Dan Silvis, Firefighter Sandy Silvis, Firefighter Chris Brady, Firefighter and Julian Shultz, Engineer Bill Cochran. Many of the members will be participating in Pump 2 June 22-23. |
