On January 26, twenty Cherryhill Township Firefighters completed certification training to the standards of the American Heart Association. Firefighters were trained on a variety of topics such as maintaining an airway, breathing and circulation of patients, bleed control using a tourniquet, patient positioning for traumatic and non-traumatic injuries, C-Spine mobilization, considerations for patients experiencing shock, heart attack, stroke, diabetic episode, and hyperthermia. Firefighters reviewed a variety of equipment on their rigs and practiced a variety patient packaging techniques.
