On February 23, seventeen Cherryhill firefighters completed the newly revised Hazardous Materials Operations Refresher training at the Indiana County Public Safety Academy.

The refresher highlights included pre-planning considerations, a thorough review of the states of matter, reactivity, safety considerations, review of the Emergency Response Guide (ERG) and then a quiz on reading and using the ERG and concluded with a through review of our air monitoring equipment and understanding the data an air monitor provides.

We thank Cherryhill Safety Services for the use of 17 air monitors for use by each Cherryhill members in attendance. Everyone having a monitor made the segment of air monitoring much deeper and all firefighters demonstrate their proficiency with air monitors.
